The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has unveiled a 15-member squad for the upcoming T20I series against Afghanistan. The squad includes fast bowler Ebadot Hossain and middle-order batter Afif Hossain.

Afif, who has displayed impressive performances in domestic cricket, has earned a spot in the squad, replacing Jaker Ali who was part of the Ireland T20Is but didn’t feature in any matches. Afif had previously been dropped from the team after a string of low scores. However, a solid campaign in the Dhaka Premier League (DPL) has paved the way for his return in both white-ball formats.

Ebadot, on the other hand, last played a T20I match against Pakistan in the T20 World Cup, and subsequently lost his place in the team. The T20I matches between Bangladesh and Afghanistan are scheduled to be held on July 14 and 16 at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium. Prior to the T20Is, the teams will compete in ODIs in Chattogram from July 5.

Bangladesh’s Squad for Afghanistan T20Is: Shakib Al Hasan (Captain), Litton Kumer Das, Rony Talukdar, Najmul Hossain Shanto, Towhid Hridoy, Shamim Hossain, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Nasum Ahmed, Mustafizur Rahman, Hasan Mahmud, Taskin Ahmed, Ebadot Hossain Chowdhury, Shoriful Islam, Rishad Hossain, Afif Hossain.
