Rishabh Pant once again delivered an entertaining and impactful knock to help tighten India’s control over the second Test against England at Edgbaston. After securing a massive 180-run lead, India resumed their second innings late on Day Three, with Yashasvi Jaiswal at the crease. On the morning of Day Four, India lost a couple of quick wickets before Pant, the twin centurion from the first Test, joined captain Shubman Gill in the middle.
True to his fearless style, Pant wasted no time in attacking the English bowlers. Earlier in the innings, KL Rahul also played a valuable knock, scoring 55 off 84 balls to stabilize the top order. Meanwhile, Shubman Gill made history by becoming only the second Indian batter to score a double century and a century in the same Test match. He remained unbeaten on 100, alongside Ravindra Jadeja, who was 25 not out at Tea.
India went into the Tea break on Day Four at 304/4, with a commanding 484-run lead over England.
