The fourth Test between England and India at Old Trafford, Manchester, ended in a draw. Team India’s batters showed grit and determination by ensuring a draw, as skipper Shubman Gill, and all-rounders Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar, hit centuries, along with KL Rahul’s gritty 90-run knock.

But throughout this epic encounter, several records were broken, and some of the notable milestones are listed below:

Yashasvi Jaiswal became the first Indian opener in more than fifty years to score a half-century at Old Trafford. He also completed 1,000 Test runs against England in just 16 innings, second only to Rahul Dravid.

Indian captain Shubman Gill became the first Asian to score more than 700 runs in a Test series in England. In the process, he also became the first visiting batsman since the legendary Don Bradman to score four centuries in a Test series in England. Bradman had accomplished it in 1930.

Ravindra Jadeja now has five 50-plus scores at No. 6 or lower in a Test series in England, equalling Sir Garry Sobers’ record from 1966. Jadeja also completed 1,000 runs in England.

Rishabh Pant became India’s leading run-scorer (2,731 runs in 37 matches) in the World Test Championship (WTC), surpassing former captain Rohit Sharma (2,716 runs in 40 matches).

India now has seven 350+ innings in a single Test series — a record by any team.

Ben Stokes became the first England captain to score a century and take five wickets in the same Test.

Joe Root completed 1,000 runs at Old Trafford and now at the second spot in the list of most runs in Tests, only behind Sachin Tendulkar.
