Members of Team India visited the Manchester United football club at Old Trafford, Manchester, ahead of the fourth Test of the ongoing Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy, scheduled to be played in the city.
This was a special meeting, as Manchester United players and coaching staff wore Team India’s jerseys, while the Indian cricket team members donned Manchester United jerseys. Kuldeep Yadav, known to be a huge football fan, shared the moment on X and also praised Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim.

“Sharing football knowledge with the man who’s redefining the game #RubenAmorim,” Kuldeep tweeted on Monday, 21 July.
But then, he and former England cricketer Kevin Pietersen engaged in a funny banter, as Pietersen took a dig at the Premier League side. “Very very very poor football team,” Pietersen wrote.
Kuldeep responded with a heartwarming remark: “Very, very good human being, just like you.”

Kuldeep and Pietersen share a special bond through their association with the IPL side, Delhi Capitals (DC). Kuldeep plays for the franchise, where Pietersen joined as a mentor in the last IPL season.
Meanwhile, Kuldeep Yadav is yet to play a game in this ongoing Test series. However, with Nitish Kumar Reddy ruled out of the remainder of the series, Kuldeep’s chances of playing are increasing — especially in the upcoming Test in Manchester.
India are currently trailing 1–2 in the series after three matches, having lost in Leeds and Lord’s while winning in Birmingham. Notably, India have never won a Test match in Manchester so far.
