A day before the second ODI between India Women and England Women at Lord’s, the BCCI Women’s social media post left fans emotional. The video featured a heartwarming video call between former India pacer Jhulan Goswami and current stars Harmanpreet Kaur and Jemimah Rodrigues.

The call began with cheerful greetings as Harmanpreet expressed how much the team misses their legendary former teammate. “We miss you Jhulu di,” said Harmanpreet. Jhulan responded warmly, “Same here. I am also missing you guys. I wish I was there.” Jemimah quickly added, “Not watching… Playing with us Jhulu di.”

Jhulan fondly recalled why Lord’s holds a special place in her heart, saying, “It was a great memory. We won 3-0. First time in England. I hope you guys do the same.”

The emotional exchange concluded with a promise from both Harmanpreet and Jemimah. “We will try and do something special for you tomorrow. And try and win it for you,” they said.

Jhulan’s Final ODI and a Historic 3-0 Win at Lord’s

The match they were referring to was Jhulan Goswami’s farewell ODI, a historic moment in Indian women’s cricket. On September 24, 2022, Goswami played her final international match at Lord’s, where India defeated England by 16 runs, completing a 3-0 clean sweep in the series — a feat that holds special significance in Indian cricket history.

For India Women, this ongoing tour of England have been fantastic so far. First, they won the historic T20I series 3-2 and now, they have already won the first ODI. Hence, the primary aim would be to seal the series with another win at the iconic Lord’s.
