The England Women’s team secured a dominant victory on Saturday, 7 June by defeating West Indies Women in the third ODI at Taunton. In a rain-affected contest, England’s bowlers restricted the visitors to just 106/8 in the first innings, and their top-order batters chased down the target swiftly, finishing the match in just the 11th over.

It was the Player of the Match, Sarah Glenn, who delivered a standout performance and gave England the upper hand early on. Making her first appearance in the series, Glenn stole the spotlight with figures of 3/21 at an economy rate of 5.25.

With this win, England completed a clean sweep of the three-match ODI series 3-0. Amy Jones, who finished with 251 runs across the series, was named Player of the Series.

“Stayed in the present and was on when I needed to be on” – Glenn on England’s win

Speaking after the match, Glenn reflected on her performance and the team’s focus throughout the day: “A long day, everyone did well to get the focus back on. Pressure when you come in to make an impact, but stayed in the present and was on when I needed to be on. It’s healthy, seeing the development of the counties and the competition for places.”

England captain Nat Sciver-Brunt remained unbeaten on 57 off just 33 balls in the chase and sealed the win emphatically. She sounded satisfied and optimistic in the post-match presentation: “It’s a pleasing thing to see that everyone given an opportunity has put their hand up. Some girls have a few days off, then some domestic cricket. We’ll be raring to go come India.”
