England will tour Sri Lanka for a three-match ODI series and a three-match T20I series in preparation for the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) confirmed the itinerary for the white-ball tour via its social media platforms on Wednesday, 20 August.

The ODI series will begin on Thursday, 22 January, with the first match. The second ODI will follow on Saturday, 24 January, with the series concluding on Tuesday, 27 January. After the ODIs, the focus will shift to the three-match T20I series, starting on Friday, 30 January. The second T20I is scheduled for Sunday, 1 February, with the third and final match on Tuesday, 3 February.

Match venues are yet to be confirmed and will be announced by Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) closer to the start of the series. As part of England’s build-up to the World Cup, the T20I series will serve as key preparation ahead of the tournament, which will be co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka.

This will be the first bilateral T20 series between the two sides since 2021, when Sri Lanka lost 3–0. England last toured Sri Lanka in 2018–19 for a one-off T20I, which the visitors won.
