The excitement for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy is expected, and it showed last night at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Airport, which was bustling with fans bidding farewell to Team India as they departed for Australia. Among the early arrivals were fast bowlers, Mohammed Siraj and Akash Deep, assistant coach Abhishek Nayar, all-rounder Washington Sundar, opening batter Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Shubman Gill. The team bus pulled up at the airport at around 9 p.m, pausing for 25 minutes near the gate before the players began disembarking, greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.

The atmosphere at the airport was buzzing with excitement, as fans eagerly cheered and chanted for each player stepping off the bus. Jaiswal and Siraj took a few moments to engage with fans, signing autographs before heading inside. The familiar chant, “Jeetega bhai Jeetega, India Jeetega,” echoed through the crowd, capturing the shared optimism for India’s chances.

Jaiswal, in particular, drew the loudest cheers, with fans expressing high hopes for his performance in Australia. Among them, Arun, a devoted fan of the Indian team, shared, “The Test series in Australia is going to be a huge challenge, but I’m confident this team will fight hard and come out on top.” He also added, “It will be crucial for Virat Kohli to score runs there, as India’s success will largely hinge on his performances.”

Another fan, Aryan, voiced his anticipation, saying, “I was really hoping to see Jasprit Bumrah tonight. It’s a bit disappointing he wasn’t part of this group, but I wish the team all the best and hope they put up a strong fight in Australia.” With such enthusiastic support from fans back home, Team India will have high expectations to meet, as they arrive in Australia and begin their preparations for the intense series ahead.
