The BCCI has stuck to the word of hosting the entire IPL in India this year and it has unveiled the schedule of the remaining games. The prestigious MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai will host the final of the T20 league on May 26. In a season that could be MS Dhoni’s last, Chepauk hosting the final adds to the anticipation.
All 74 matches are slated to take place in the country, with the latter stages of the tournament centred in Ahmedabad and Chennai. The Qualifier 1 and Eliminator are scheduled to be held at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Motera on May 21 and 22 respectively, while the Qualifier 2 and the final will be at Chepauk on May 24 and 26.
The BCCI, having earlier disclosed the dates for the first 21 matches, has now crafted a comprehensive schedule, commencing with the 22nd match on April 8. Notably, the second leg of the tournament kicks off with a clash between Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders at Chepauk on April 8.
Navigating through the complexities of security concerns amid the General Elections, scheduled in seven phases from April 19 to June 1, posed a significant challenge to the BCCI.
