Indian pace bowler Deepak Chahar has observed that he is back to fill fitness and eager to grab any opportunity that comes his way. “I am fit now. Whichever tournaments I get to play, like the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, I would try to do well in them. That is all I can control as a player,” he told in an interview with ANI.

“We cannot decide anything else as players. My mindset is to do well in every chance I get. I am very happy with my bowling at the moment. I am trying to make a comeback into the national team. I recently played the RPL (Rajasthan Premier League) tournament. Till Sunday, I was at the National Cricket Academy. I was practising with the Indian team, which is going to China for the Asian Games,” he added.

Chahar suffered a hamstring injury during the 2023 Indian Premier League (IPL) season, impacting his performance for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), where he managed to claim 13 wickets in 10 matches. The 31-year-old bowler, who last represented India in December 2022, has faced several injuries in the past. Due to the injury concerns, Chahar was not considered for selection for the upcoming ODI World Cup at home and the Asian Games in China.
