The 17th edition of the UEFA EURO Competition is set to take place in Germany from June 14 to July 14, 2024, with 24 nations competing for the prestigious trophy. On December 2, 2023, the final draw for the competition occurred at Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg, Germany. Twenty-one teams have already qualified, while the remaining three will be finalized through eliminators in March 2024. Several head coaches, such as Luciano Spalletti (Italy), Julian Nagelsmann (Germany), Roberto Martinez (Belgium), and Gareth Southgate (England), were present.
Jonas Kaufmann’s orchestra kicked off the event, and football stars like Gianluigi Buffon, Steve MacManaman, Angelos Charisteas, Ricardo Quaresma, Blaise Matuidi, Wesley Sneijder, Sami Khedira, and David Silva assisted with the draw.
As the host, Germany was placed in Group A alongside Scotland, Hungary, and Switzerland. However, Group B, dubbed the ‘Group of Death,’ drew attention as Spain, Croatia, and Italy were pitted against each other, with Albania as the fourth team. Consequently, the defending champion, Italy, faces a challenging group.
The Euro 2020 Runners-Up, England, were drawn in Group C alongside Denmark, Serbia, and Slovenia. In Group D, fans eagerly anticipate watching the Netherlands and France in action.
Roberto Martinez’s former team, Belgium, found themselves in Group E, considered relatively easier with Slovakia, Romania, and the Play-off Winner B. Meanwhile, Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal aims for more glory by facing Turkey, Czech Republic, and Play-off Winner C in Group F.
