Rohit Sharma’s struggles in IPL 2025 continued as he was dismissed for just eight runs off four balls against Gujarat Titans (GT) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Mohammed Siraj produced a peach of a delivery to send him back early.

The GT pacer bowled a good-length delivery, slightly wide off the off stump, which seamed back in sharply after pitching. With no foot movement, Rohit attempted a defensive block, but the ball snuck between bat and pad, crashing into the top of the off stump—a big breakthrough for GT.

Rohit started aggressively, hitting two consecutive fours, giving hope to Mumbai Indians (MI) fans that this might be the innings they had been waiting for. However, on the fourth delivery of the first over in MI’s chase, Siraj’s brilliance ended his stay at the crease.

Rohit Sharma has scored only 133 runs vs GT in six games so far

This early dismissal adds to Rohit’s disappointing IPL record against GT. After today’s knock, he has managed just 133 runs in six matches at an average of 22.16, without a single fifty. With their experienced opener gone early, MI will now rely on their middle order to chase down 197 runs.

For Siraj, this was a strong comeback after a below-par outing in the first game. He struck twice with the new ball, giving GT a perfect start. Earlier, Sai Sudharsan was the top scorer for GT with a well-compiled 63 off 41 balls as they posted 196/8 in their 20 overs.
