It’s 2,000 T20 runs for Gujarat Titans (GT) opener Sai Sudharsan. He reached the milestone in just 54 innings, becoming the fastest Indian cricketer to achieve the feat. With this, the batter has surpassed legendary Sachin Tendulkar, who held the record for 13 years after reaching the mark in 59 innings.
Sudharsan is now second on the all-time list of fastest players to 2,000 T20 runs. Formerly known as Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings) star Shaun Marsh leads the list, having achieved the milestone in just 53 innings. In addition, Sudharsan—GT’s highest run-scorer—now tops the Orange Cap leaderboard with 504 runs at a strike rate of 154.12. He also leads the charts for the most boundaries hit this season, with 55.
Sai Sudharsan is the current Orange Cap holder
The GT opener delivered yet another impressive performance in today’s match, particularly in the powerplay. He scored 48 runs off just 23 balls, strengthening his position as the current Orange Cap holder. His partnership with skipper Shubman Gill dominated the first innings and thrilled GT fans, as the team reached 82/0 by the end of the powerplay.
Sudharsan was especially effective against SRH bowlers like Mohammed Shami and Pat Cummins. His consistency this season has been nothing short of remarkable. Sudharsan continues to impress with his batting skills and is a major factor behind GT’s strong campaign this year, both in terms of individual performance and team impact.
