Australian fast bowler Josh Hazlewood has expressed confidence ahead of the upcoming Ashes series. He said he feels fit and fully ready to play all five Tests against England. The right-arm pacer, who has missed Tests in the previous seasons, said his body is in great condition and he is focused on maintaining rhythm and consistency.

Speaking to The Sydney Morning Herald, Hazlewood said, “That’s the life of a fast bowler, everyone is carrying some sort of niggle. My body feels great right now. I am very confident of getting through all five without any dramas.”

Hazlewood has played a crucial role in Australia’s win against India in the first ODI at the Optus Stadium in Perth. He dismissed Rohit Sharma and Shreyas Iyer early and he hopes to play on a similar pitch when England visit Perth.

He said, “For sure. Perth always offers some nice bounce and pace which has served us well in the past, especially our bowlers who all offer something different.”

Reflecting on his form, Hazlewood said, “It was a nice start. (My) rhythm felt good off the back of New Zealand. Everything is feeling good at the moment, a nice way to start the build-up (to the Ashes).”

The fitness of Pat Cummins remains a concern for Australia. The team will rely heavily on Hazlewood and Mitchell Starc to lead the attack if Cummins doesn’t recover.
