
Several players from Australia, South Africa and New Zealand have reached their career-best positions in the latest ICC men’s player rankings after some outstanding performances.
In T20Is, Australia’s Tim David has jumped six places to 10th. David is the leading run-scorer in the ongoing series against South Africa. His teammate Cameron Green has climbed six spots, to the 17th place.
For South Africa, young star Dewald Brevis made the biggest jump. His 125 runs in the second T20I is the highest score by a South African man in T20Is and the highest–ever against Australia, which helped him jump to the 21st spot. His teammate Tristan Stubbs moved 12 places to joint 27th.
In Test cricket, New Zealand players have been rewarded for their impressive performances of late. Pacer Matt Henry, who took 16 wickets in the recent two-Test series against Zimbabwe, moved up to third in the bowling rankings, behind Jasprit Bumrah and Kagiso Rabada of South Africa. Batters Rachin Ravindra (23rd), Devon Conway(37th)and Henry Nicholls (47th) also gained places.
The ODI rankings saw West Indies spinner Gudakesh Motie climb to 12th after his performances against Pakistan. His teammate Jayden Seales made a huge jump to 33rd, while Pakistan’s Abrar Ahmed moved up to 54th.
