Indian umpire Jatin Kashyap has been charged by the International Cricket Council (ICC) for breaching two counts of the ICC Anti-Corruption Code. The charges stem from an investigation into International Matches in 2022.

The first charge against Jatin is a breach of Article 2.4.6 of the Code, which involves failing or refusing, without valid justification, to cooperate with the Anti-Corruption Unit’s investigation. This includes not providing accurate and complete information or documentation requested by the ACU during the investigation.

The second charge is a breach of Article 2.4.7 of the Code, which involves obstructing or delaying the ACU’s investigation. This includes actions such as concealing, tampering with, or destroying relevant documentation or information that could be evidence of or lead to the discovery of corrupt conduct.

The ICC officials, at this stage, will refrain from making any additional statements regarding these charges.

As per Code Article 4.6.6, Jatin has a 14-day window starting from May 19 to address the charges brought against him.
