Yashasvi Jaiswal has reclaimed his place among the top five batters in the ICC Test rankings after his superb century in the second innings of the Oval Test. The left-hander scored a fluent 118, laced with 14 fours and two sixes, helping India set England a target of 374 runs in the final Test of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy.
With this knock, Jaiswal jumped three spots to reach fifth position in the latest rankings. He had earlier slipped out of the top five following low scores in the Lord’s and Manchester Tests, but his strong comeback in London has put him back among the elite.
Meanwhile, Indian captain Shubman Gill endured a tough outing at the Oval, managing just 21 and 11 in his two innings. As a result, he has dropped four places to 13th, sliding out of the top 10. India’s vice-captain Rishabh Pant, who missed the final Test due to a toe injury, also slipped one spot to eighth.
At the top of the batting chart, Joe Root continues to dominate after his brilliant century at the Oval. He now leads with 908 rating points, further widening the gap. Harry Brook, who also notched a century in the same match, remains in second place, reinforcing England’s strong top-order presence.
Siraj breaks into Top 15 after match-winning spell
In the bowling rankings, Jasprit Bumrah continues to hold the No. 1 spot, maintaining consistency throughout the series. However, the most notable rise has come from Mohammed Siraj, who delivered a game-changing spell on Day 5 at the Oval.
Siraj jumped 12 spots to 15th position, following his impressive performance. He finished as the highest wicket-taker of the series, claiming 23 wickets in just nine innings, playing a crucial role in India levelling the series 2-2.
