India’s Test vice-captain Rishabh Pant has climbed one spot to seventh in the ICC Test rankings—his career-best position—after scoring a century in each innings against England in the first Test at Leeds. He became only the second wicketkeeper-batter, after Zimbabwe great Andy Flower, to achieve this remarkable feat.

England opener Ben Duckett, who amassed over 200 runs in the Leeds Test, has gained five places to reach his career-best ranking of eighth.

India’s captain and centurion from the first Test, Shubman Gill, has jumped five places to reach 20th in the rankings, just behind Ollie Pope, who also scored a century in the first innings and now occupies the 19th spot.

Jasprit Bumrah continues to lead the bowling rankings

Joe Root retains the top position, while Harry Brook, who was unfortunate to miss a century by just one run in the first innings, is ranked second. Root played the anchor role with an unbeaten 53 in the second innings to guide England to a memorable victory on day five of the Leeds Test. Yashasvi Jaiswal, who struck a brilliant century in the first innings, is currently the highest-ranked Indian batter, standing in fourth place.

Jasprit Bumrah continues to lead the bowling rankings after his five-wicket haul in the first innings at Leeds, followed by Kagiso Rabada and Pat Cummins, both of whom impressed in the recently concluded 2025 World Test Championship Final.

Ravindra Jadeja remains at the top of the all-rounders’ rankings, while England captain Ben Stokes is placed fifth.
