The ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 Trophy Tour with DP World brought the city of Indore alive with excitement as it celebrated the arrival of the prized silverware ahead of the global event.
The trophy made its way through some of Indore’s most recognisable landmarks — Rajwada Palace, Gandhi Hall, Central Museum, Sirpur Lake and Pitra Parvat — giving locals a chance to witness World Cup fever at their favourite spots.
A standout moment of the five-day stop was the trophy’s school visits, where students from institutions such as The Emerald Heights International School, Niranjana Girls School, Sri Sathya Sai Vidya Vihar, Bhavans Prominent International School and Sanmati Higher Secondary School welcomed it with guards of honour. Children engaged in cricket-themed games and quizzes, taking home exclusive ICC merchandise while soaking in the atmosphere of the tournament.
Adding further inspiration, India U-19 cricketer Aayushi Shukla joined the celebrations at Bhavans Prominent International School, sharing her story and encouraging young girls to dream big in cricket.
The final leg in Indore culminated at Holkar Stadium, one of the host venues for the tournament, with a special media interaction. Officials of the Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association, alongside former India cricketers Sandhya Agarwal and Chitra Bajpai, highlighted the city’s strong cricketing culture.
The Trophy Tour will now move on to Mumbai, before continuing its journey across select cities in India and Sri Lanka, in the build-up to the World Cup scheduled from 30 September to 2 November.
