The England tour is finally upon us. The Indian team is here in the UK, and KL Rahul has already scored a hundred in the A game to assure fans that the team will not be a pushover. Karun Nair too has looked good, and things aren’t looking bad for India. For us at RevSportz, it is a massive occasion. Months and months of planning, and now to the execution. In fact, we have planned things in meticulous detail. How to be different, how to bring coverage of a certain nature that will appeal to our viewers, in the process making our own team members better journalists.

We start the coverage with a week of exclusive interviews. Almost every base is covered. We launch the series with Bharat Arun, bowling coach of the Indian team that toured England in 2021. What does the bowling attack need to do, what are the areas for improvement, the role of Kuldeep Yadav, and how can the others step up to ensure Jasprit Bumrah gets the necessary respite. Bharat did not hold back, and made some telling points.

We follow that up with a detailed conversation with Kuldeep, who many think will be India’s X-factor bowler in the UK. Can left-arm wrist-spin help India stand apart and can Kuldeep make a difference? How confident is he about his form and what are the challenges of playing in the UK? Kuldeep, candid and no holds barred, was an excellent conversation.

If there is one player in Indian cricket who doesn’t hold back, it is Ravichandran Ashwin. And when you have him engaged for over 30 minutes, it is a fascinating chat. Ashwin on Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant, on Bumrah and his workload management, on the bowling attack and on captaincy. It is one conversation few will want to miss.

Adding local flavour to our coverage is Telegraph cricket writer Tim Wigmore. He helps set up the series for us and predicts a 3-2 scoreline for England.

And finally, we round off the series with two in-depth conversations – with former Australian captain Michael Clarke and India’s comeback man Shardul Thakur. While Clarke has yet again talked up Kuldeep, Shardul seems focussed on making the most of every opportunity that presents itself.

Side by side with the interviews, we give you flavours of England. Be it the little hidden plaque of MAK Pataudi at Oxford, the Ranji connection in Brighton, the women’s cricket story in Bath or the Sachin Tendulkar-Harry Ramsden fish-eating story, you can watch the colours and flavours of England in our series, England Diaries.

With multiple reporters on ground, this tour will be a very different one for us at RevSportz. We hope the viewers enjoy everything England with us for the next two months. From breaking news to exclusives to on-ground analysis and colour, there will be comprehensive, holistic coverage from the team. Time for the English summer to start, and for us to dig into our scones and some English Breakfast tea.
