India A Women started their One-Day series in Australia with a three-wicket win over Australia A Women, in Brisbane, on Tuesday. This was an important win for India, as they had already lost all three T20 matches earlier in the tour.

The match was played at the Ian Healy Oval, where Australia A won the toss and opted to bat.  Australia A scored 214 runs in 47.5 overs. Anika Learoyd played a brilliant, undefeated knock of 92 runs off 90 balls. Rachel Trenaman supported her well with 51 runs from 62 balls.

However, the rest of the batting order struggled as wickets kept falling at regular intervals. Captain Radha Yadav was the top wicket-taker for India A with 3/45 in 10 overs. Titas Sadhu and Minnu Mani got two wickets each while Shabnam Shakil and Tanusree Sarkar both managed to get one wicket each.

In reply, India A chased down the target in 42 overs, finishing at 215/7. Yastika Bhatia was the  top-scorer with 59 off 70 balls, hitting seven boundaries. Shafali Verma scored 36 runs from 31 balls, while Dhara Gujjar scored 31 off 53 balls. Raghvi Bisht remained unbeaten on 25 runs off 34 balls. For Australia A, Lucy Hamilton and Ella Hayward took two wickets each, while Kim Garth, Sianna Ginger, and Tess Flintoff picked up one wicket each respectively.

With this win, India A leads the three-match one-day series 1-0. The second and third games will be played on August 15 and 17 at the same venue, which will be followed by a four-day unofficial Test starting August 21 at the Allan Border Field.
