In a cliffhanger, Bangladesh A defeated India A in a Super Over in the first semi-final of the ACC Men’s Asia Cup Rising Stars 2025 at the West End Park International Cricket Stadium in Doha.

After being put in to bat first, Bangladesh A, thanks to a half-century from Habibur Rahman Sohan and a fiery cameo from SM Meherob, posted a challenging total of 194/6 in their 20 overs. Sohan was the highest run-scorer of the innings, making 65 off 46 balls, including three fours and five sixes at a strike rate of 141.30, while Meherob smashed an unbeaten 48 off 18 balls, including one four and six sixes at a blistering strike rate of 266.67. For India A, Gurjapneet Singh took two wickets.

In reply, India A made a superb start as teenage sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Priyansh Arya added 53 runs off just 22 balls for the first wicket. Jitesh Sharma and Nehal Wadhera also contributed 52 runs off 33 balls, though it was not enough. Abu Hider Rony and Rakibul Hasan took two wickets each for Bangladesh A. However, a fielding blunder allowed India A to take the match to a Super Over.

Ripon Mondol was brilliant for Bangladesh A in the Super Over, taking two wickets with the first two balls. Bangladesh A then needed just one run to win, which they eventually achieved as Suyash Sharma bowled a wide after taking a wicket with the first ball. Mondol was adjudged Player of the Match.
