Team India will travel to Bangladesh in August for a six-match white-ball series, comprising three ODIs followed by three T20Is. The tour will begin on August 17 and conclude on August 31, with all matches scheduled to take place in Mirpur and Chattogram.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has confirmed the tour, marking India’s first limited-overs assignment since their Champions Trophy triumph over New Zealand.
The Sher-E-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur, Dhaka will host the first two ODIs on August 17 and 20. The series will then shift to Chattogram, where the third ODI will be played at the Bir Sreshtho Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium on August 23, followed by the first T20I on August 26. The action will return to Mirpur for the remaining two T20Is on August 29 and 31.
Following a demanding five-match Test series in England from June 20 to July 31, India were initially scheduled to host the West Indies for a two-match Test series in October. However, those plans have been revised, and the T20I series against Bangladesh will now serve as crucial preparation for the upcoming Asia Cup, which will be played in the T20 format.
While the dates and venue for the Asia Cup are yet to be officially announced, sources indicate that the tournament is likely to be held in either the UAE or Sri Lanka.
