
India’s star spinner Kuldeep Yadav created history in the Asia Cup 2025 final against Pakistan at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. He broke a record and again proved why he is a reliable bowler for India in big matches. In today’s match he took four crucial wickets and conceded 30 runs in four overs.
Kuldeep is now the highest wicket-taker in Asia Cup history (ODI and T20 combined). He has 36 wickets in just 18 matches. He over took Sri Lanka’s Lasith Malinga, who held the previous record of 33 wickets. Muttiah Muralitharan is in third position with 30 wickets. Kuldeep’s achievement shows his consistency and impact across the different formats of the in Asia Cup.
Kuldeep has been especially effective against Pakistan. In the three Asia Cup matches between the teams this year, he has taken a total of eight wickets for only 79 runs, which made him the most successful bowler against Pakistan in this tournament. With today’s performance, he has a total 17 wickets from seven matches in Asia Cup 2025.
In today’s final, Kuldeep picked up the crucial wickets of Saim Ayub, captain Salman Agha, Shaheen Shah Afridi and Faheem Ashraf. He also received excellent support from the rest of the bowling unit.
Varun Chakravarthy, Axar Patel and Jasprit Bumrah claimed two wickets each, while Shivam Dube and part–time bowler Tilak Varma bowled tightly. India bowled out Pakistan in 19.1 overs after a promising start, and restricted them to 146 runs.
