Kuldeep Yadav bowled a brilliant spell for India, taking a four-fer to restrict the UAE side to a low total on his comeback to the Indian T20I team.
The left-arm wrist-spinner was introduced into the attack after the powerplay, in the seventh over, and turned the game around in his very next over by taking three wickets. Off the first ball, he bowled a flighted delivery, and Rahul Chopra went for a big shot but failed to get the distance—only to find Shubman Gill, who moved to his right to take the catch. On the fourth ball of that over, Kuldeep trapped Muhammad Waseem LBW, and on the final delivery, he bowled Harshit Kaushik.
In the first ball of the fourteenth over, Kuldeep dismissed Haider Ali to wrap up UAE’s innings for just 57 runs, laying a solid foundation for an easy Indian victory. He finished with exceptional figures of 4/7 in 2.1 overs, at an economy rate of 3.23.
Kuldeep was part of the squad for the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy in England but did not get a chance to play in any match. He last featured in a T20I for India on 29 June 2024 and is now making a comeback after more than a year.
