The West Indies team are set for a six-day training camp in Ahmedabad, to be held from 24 to 29 September, ahead of the two-match Test series against India, which begins on 2 October.

According to Cricbuzz, Cricket West Indies has informed both the BCCI and the Gujarat Cricket Association (GCA).

“We have a team that we expect to perform well, particularly an exciting fast bowling attack. We’ll be there from 24 September through to the first Test,” CEO Chris Dehring told Cricbuzz.

Playing their first Test series in India since 2018–19, the West Indies will open the series at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

The second Test will be played from 10 to 14 October at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.

The West Indies have already announced their squad. Having seen New Zealand whitewash India at home last year, West Indies head coach Daren Sammy is confident of achieving something similar.

“We’re definitely going down there with the mindset to win,” Sammy said at a press conference. “We’re not just going to go down there and think, ‘Oh, it’s India.’ No. New Zealand went there and did incredibly well, and that’s something we should take inspiration from. But again, it’s about understanding what New Zealand did in those conditions and trying to emulate it with our guys as well.”

West Indies squad: Roston Chase (Captain), Jomel Warrican (Vice-Captain), Kevlon Anderson, Alick Athanaze, John Campbell, Tagenarine Chanderpaul, Justin Greaves, Shai Hope, Tevin Imlach, Alzarri Joseph, Shamar Joseph, Brandon King, Anderson Phillip, Khary Pierre, and Jayden Seales.
