
In a commanding performance at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, India batter Jemimah Rodrigues starred with a brilliant century to guide her side to a massive total of 337/9 against South Africa in the fifth match of the ongoing 2025 Sri Lanka Women’s Tri-Nation ODI Series.
Rodrigues was the standout performer with the bat, scoring an impressive 123 runs off just 101 deliveries. Her innings was filled with elegant stroke play and intelligent shot selection. She struck 15 boundaries and one six, maintaining an excellent strike rate of 121.78. Walking in when India were in early trouble at 50/3 after just seven overs, Rodrigues played a crucial anchor role and steered the innings with composure and class.

The right-hander first stitched together a vital 88-run stand for the fourth wicket with Smriti Mandhana, which helped India recover from the early setbacks. She then combined with Deepti Sharma to build a match-defining 122-run partnership for the fifth wicket. Notably, this stand became India’s highest-ever fifth-wicket partnership in Women’s ODI history.
This century is Rodrigues’ second in One-Day Internationals and comes at a crucial time in the tournament. In her previous matches in the series, she had already shown signs of good form, scoring 41 off 32 balls with four boundaries against South Africa in the reverse fixture and 37 off 46 against Sri Lanka, hitting three boundaries.
Now, in three innings in this series, Jemimah has 201 runs to her name, at an average of 67.00 with a strike rate of 112.29. She is the current highest scorer in this series after this magnificent ton.
