India vs Argentina went down to the wire, although India put on a valiant display they narrowly lost 3-4 to the opponents at the FIH Pro League at the Wagener Stadium in Amstelveen. India did not have the best start with Argentina scoring early in the 3rd minute. While the team started to find their rhythm, it was the skipper, Harmanpreet Singh who once again scored a clutch goal in the 12th minute with a signature drag flick.

Argentina made a comeback in the second quarter, they took the lead through a goal by Lucas Martinez. While India kept pushing, showing urgency and intent, they could not make a breakthrough.

The third quarter was full of drama, Mandeep Singh earned a penalty stroke and Harmanpreet made no mistake, levelling the game for the second time in the match. But Argentina, under pressure, soon hit back with a goal from Santiago Tarazona. Later, in the 42nd minute it was Abhishek who brought the game to a 3-3 tie in the 42nd minute.

The pressure was on both teams in the final quarter, Argentina managed to score their fourth goal through Lucio Mendez and while India fought back hard, throwing their bodies forward, the equaliser never came.

It was a tough result for the team, especially considering that they could have qualified for the 2026 World Cup if they finished the tournament at the top of the points table, something that looks tough now. With the loss, India stay at the fourth spot in the table with 15 points from 11 games.
