India, South Africa Shine Bright in the ICC Women’s World Cup Team of the Tournament

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has revealed its Team of the Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025. Champions India and runners-up South Africa have the most players in the Team of the Tournament, with three players from each side. Three Australians and one player each from England and Pakistan also made the cut in the playing XI.

From India, Smriti Mandhana, Jemimah Rodrigues, and Deepti Sharma have been included in the team. Mandhana’s consistent scoring made her the second-highest run-scorer of the tournament, with 434 runs at an average of 54.25. Rodrigues impressed everyone with her match-winning century in the semi-final, which took India to the final; she also scored 292 runs in the tournament. Deepti Sharma, who was named Player of the Tournament, took 22 wickets and contributed a crucial 58 runs, including a five-wicket haul in the final.

South Africa’s captain, Laura Wolvaardt, who scored the most runs – 571 at an average of 71.37 – has been named captain of the Team of the Tournament. All-rounders Marizanne Kapp (208 runs and 12 wickets) and Nadine de Klerk (208 runs and 9 wickets) were also included in the squad.

Australia also have three players in the team: Ash Gardner (328 runs and 7 wickets), Annabel Sutherland (117 runs and 17 wickets), and Alana King (13 wickets).

England’s Sophie Ecclestone also found a place in the squad with 16 wickets in the tournament, as did Pakistan’s Sidra Nawaz for her sharp glovework. England skipper Nat Sciver-Brunt was named the 12th player for her strong all-round performances.
