The ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025–26 has seen several Indian internationals deliver standout performances as they gear up for national duties. On Saturday, multiple matches featured big scores from established names, underlining the depth and quality of India’s domestic circuit.
Hardik Pandya marked his return to Baroda colours with a spectacular knock against Vidarbha at the Niranjan Shah Stadium in Rajkot. The all-rounder rescued his team from a precarious 71 for 5, batting at No. 7. He reached his fifty in 44 balls before accelerating dramatically, needing just 24 more deliveries to complete his first-ever List A hundred. The highlight came in the 39th over when he hammered left-arm spinner Parth Rekhade for 34 runs, including five sixes and a four, one of the most expensive overs in the tournament’s history. Pandya eventually fell for 133 off 92 balls, striking 11 sixes and eight fours, and powered Baroda to a competitive total.
In another encounter, Axar Patel registered his maiden List A century for Gujarat against Andhra. Walking in at a tricky phase, Axar played a composed innings, reaching his hundred off 98 balls. He shared a crucial partnership with Vishal Jayswal, who contributed a half-century, helping Gujarat revive their innings.
Tilak Varma also joined the list of centurions, smashing a hundred for Hyderabad in their clash against Chandigarh, further underlining his growing stature in the domestic game.
Karnataka’s Devdutt Padikkal continued his exceptional run of form, notching up yet another century, his fourth in five innings in the tournament. The left-hander has been in sublime touch, consistently piling on big runs and strengthening his case in the 50-over format.
On the bowling front, Arshdeep Singh delivered a match-winning spell for Punjab against Sikkim, claiming a five-wicket haul despite arriving late due to travel issues. His effort bundled Sikkim out for a low total, which Punjab chased down comfortably by 10 wickets. Varun Chakaravarthy and Harshit Rana were also impressive, picking up four wickets apiece in their respective matches.
Meanwhile, Shubman Gill’s anticipated return for Punjab was postponed after he was ruled out due to illness, with team management opting for caution. Shreyas Iyer, recovering from a previous injury, has received conditional fitness clearance and is set to feature in Mumbai’s upcoming matches against Himachal Pradesh and Punjab.
Elsewhere, KL Rahul scored 35 before falling to a sharp catch, while Sanju Samson, opening for Kerala against Jharkhand, notched up a hundred- his first this season. As the tournament progresses, these performances from India’s leading players continue to add edge and quality to an already fiercely competitive Vijay Hazare Trophy.
