The India senior men’s national football team will take on Thailand in a FIFA International Friendly on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at the Thammasat Stadium in Pathum Thani, Thailand.

This friendly is part of India’s preparations for their upcoming AFC Asian Cup 2027 Qualifiers Final Round Group C clash against Hong Kong, China, scheduled for June 10. Currently ranked 127th in the FIFA Rankings, India will face 99th-ranked Thailand in what promises to be a valuable test ahead of their qualifier.

The Blue Tigers will begin their training camp for the June FIFA window in Kolkata on May 18 and are set to fly out to Thailand by May 29. After the match against Thailand, the team will travel to Hong Kong to prepare and acclimatise for their important Group C tie.

India and Thailand have faced each other 26 times in the past

Group C also includes Bangladesh and Singapore, with all four teams level on one point after Matchday 1. India were held to a goalless draw by Bangladesh in Shillong, while Singapore and Hong Kong shared the same result in their match in Singapore on March 25.

In 26 matches so far between these two sides, Thailand hold the upper hand with 12 wins, while India have won seven times. The remaining seven matches ended in draws. However, India emerged victorious in their last two encounters in 2019 — a 4-1 win at the AFC Asian Cup in Abu Dhabi and a 1-0 win at the King’s Cup in Buriram.

Kick-off time, broadcast details, and India’s probable squad for the camp in Kolkata will be announced in due course.
