India Women’s team are all set to play a five-match home T20I series against Sri Lanka Women in December 2025. According to a source close to RevSportz, the five-match series is expected to take place between December 21 and 30. Two venues have reportedly been selected — two matches will be hosted in Vizag, while the other three games will be played in Trivandrum.
India Women scripted history in November by winning their maiden ICC Women’s ODI title in Navi Mumbai. After that, the newly crowned ODI champions were scheduled to tour Bangladesh for a series of three ODIs and three T20Is in December. But a few days ago, the tour was postponed, as a BCB spokesperson confirmed to ESPNcricinfo. According to that person, the BCCI have sent a letter to the BCB saying that the white-ball series will be played at a later date.
Although no official reason was given for the postponement, it seems that the ongoing political tensions between India and Bangladesh played a key role. Earlier this year, India Men’s team’s white-ball tour of Bangladesh also got postponed. It was scheduled to happen in August 2025, but now, it has been pushed to September 2026. BCCI officially shared a statement to confirm that news.
Hence, this new report has now come up that the Women in Blue are going to host Chamari Athapaththu and Co. in December on home soil.
However, this series will be important for the home side as they begin their preparation for the upcoming ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026, scheduled to take place between June 12 and July 5 in England. India suffered a group-stage exit in the 2024 edition of the T20 World Cup, hosted in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
