
The Indian Pickleball Association (IPA) has successfully completed its first ever official selection trials for the upcoming Pickleball World Cup 2025. The selections were held in Ahmedabad on August 30 and 31 with the support from the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports (MYAS) and the Sports Authority of India (SAI).
This will be a historical moment as this the first time India is sending an official national team to the World Cup, which will take place in Florida, from October 27 to November 2.
More than 140 players from states like Delhi, Maharashtra, Gujarat, West Bengal, Assam, Odisha, Haryana, and Rajasthan competed for a place in the team. Players were selected in three groups for, Open, Under-16, and 50+.
At the end of the trials, IPA Treasurer and Selection Committee Chairman, Mr. Aalap Sharma, said, “This is a proud and historic moment for Indian pickleball. We have successfully completed the process of selecting our first official Team India, and I congratulate all the athletes on getting selected. Many thanks to all the stakeholders who helped us conduct the trials with utmost transparency and sporting integrity. The level of talent on display assures us that India is ready to make a strong statement on the world stage.”
He concluded by saying, “The formation of a national team under the official recognition of MYAS and SAI marks a turning point for pickleball in India. As we prepare for the World Cup, we also look forward to inspiring many more athletes to pursue this fast-growing sport.”

Open Category – Aman Patel (Men’s Singles), Amrita Mukherjee (Women’s Singles), Dhiren Patel & Suraj Desai (Men’s Doubles), Rakshikha Ravi & Sindoor Mittal (Women’s Doubles).
Under-16 – Aayra Khanna & Anushka Chhabaria (Girls), Veer Shah & Vivan Patel (Boys).
50+ – Suryaveer Singh Bhullar & Nitten Kirtane (Men’s Doubles), Bela Kotwani & Sujay Parekh (Women’s Doubles).
