The National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) officially launched the logo for the inaugural Shooting League of India (SLI) at the Dr Karni Singh Shooting Range in New Delhi on Thursday, marking a pivotal moment in the sport’s growth in the country. The unveiling saw enthusiastic participation from Indian shooters currently preparing for the 2025 ISSF World Cup in Munich.

Joining the event were Paris Olympic medallists Swapnil Kusale and Sarabjot Singh, alongside a host of India’s top shooting talents including Arjun Babuta, Elavenil Valarivan, Ramita, Sandeep Singh, Sift Kaur Samra, Anjum Moudgil, Ashi Chouksey, Varun Tomar, Chain Singh, Arjun Singh Cheema, Kiran Ankush Jadhav, Shriyanka Sadangi, Palak, Suruchi, Simranpreet Kaur Brar, Akhil Sheoran, Sainyam, Nischal, and Rahi Jeevan Sarnobat.

Sift Kaur Samra, the world record holder in the women’s 50m rifle 3 positions, said the unveiling energises athletes ahead of their Munich campaign. “Being invited to this special moment by NRAI gives us a lot of motivation. The buzz around the new league is palpable, and it uplifts us ahead of an important competition,” she remarked.

Designed by acclaimed sports marketing firm Sportwalk, the newly revealed logo blends vibrant colours to reflect the spirit, intensity, and tradition of shooting sports in India.

Asian Games medallist Ashi Chouksey praised the creative direction of the logo. “The bold palette symbolises the power and resilience of Indian athletes. It feels like a bold statement that we now must live up to,” she said.

Experienced shooter Shriyanka Sadangi added that the logo reflects the NRAI’s broader vision for the sport. “After our success at the Paris Olympics, shooting is gaining more attention in India and abroad. This league—and its strong branding—can help us carry that momentum forward and make the sport more accessible and globally recognised,” she said.

The first edition of the SLI is scheduled between November 20 and December 2, 2025. It will feature mixed team events in pistol (10m, 25m), rifle (10m, 50m 3P), and shotgun (Trap & Skeet). As per the NRAI Technical Committee, six to eight teams will compete, split into two pools during the league phase. Players will be grouped into four tiers—Elite Champions, World Elite, National Champions, and Junior & Youth Championships—ensuring a dynamic mix of seasoned veterans and emerging stars.
