India had a mixed day at the Indonesia Open Super 1000. PV Sindhu and the men’s doubles pair of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty registered wins in their opening round matches to advance to the Round of 16. In the women’s singles, Anupama Upadhyay and Rakshitha Ramraj also failed to progress. Meanwhile, Malvika Bansod, who looked in good touch, was forced to retire mid-match after suffering a knee injury during a rally.

The third game was close at 10-10, but after the break the Indian pair played brilliantly. They took control and won the game 21-14 to move into the next round.
