As the Women’s T20 World Cup approaches, the Indian women’s cricket team is grappling with injury concerns during their preparatory camp in Bangalore.
Sources, under the promise of anonymity, have revealed that while a number of players are dealing with injuries, they are expected to recover in time for the tournament.
Pacer Arundhati Reddy, who earned a recall to the national side after a stellar domestic season, is nursing a shoulder injury. Although she has been avoiding bowling to focus on rehabilitation, there is optimism that she will recover.
Meanwhile, all-rounder Pooja Vastrakar, a crucial part of India’s bowling attack, is battling a shoulder injury herself. She has been training with the help of painkiller injections, pushing through to stay on track for the World Cup.

Young spinner Shreyanka Patil, who missed the Asia Cup due to a fractured finger, has recovered from that setback, only to twist her ankle recently. Thankfully, she is nearing full fitness and is set to make her mark.
India’s key batter Jemimah Rodrigues has also suffered a finger injury while fielding. Though she’s batting with a taped finger, her participation in the World Cup looks likely. As the clock ticks down to the World Cup opener, Indian fans will be hoping their team’s injury woes subside and that the squad heads to Dubai in full strength.
