Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) officially qualified for the playoffs on 18 May after Gujarat Titans (GT) thrashed Delhi Capitals (DC) by 10 wickets in Delhi. Now, ahead of their last two league-stage fixtures, RCB have announced that Zimbabwe pacer Blessing Muzarabani will join them as a replacement for their South African pacer, Lungi Ngidi, for the remainder of the season.

South Africa is scheduled to play against Australia in the upcoming World Test Championship 2025 (WTC 2025) final from 11 to 15 June. Hence, with Ngidi being named in the squad, he needs to return to join the Proteas camp on 26 May. As a temporary replacement, Muzarabani is set to join RCB.

Who is Blessing Muzarabani, and how much is RCB spending on him?

Muzarabani is a 28-year-old, 6 ft 8 inches tall speedster from Zimbabwe. He has experience playing 70 T20Is for his country, picking up 78 wickets so far. Not only in the shortest format of the game, he has also represented Zimbabwe in 55 ODIs, taking 69 wickets, and in 12 Tests, claiming 51 wickets. RCB are paying ₹75 lakh to acquire his services.
