The Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) are already out of the playoffs race in IPL 2025, but they will still look to end their campaign on a high with a few wins. SRH’s next clash is on 19 May, tomorrow, against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). However, ahead of that match, they have suffered a major blow as their star Aussie opener, Travis Head, has been ruled out due to COVID-19.
He is yet to arrive in India for the remainder of the competition and is expected to land tomorrow, which makes him unavailable for the game.
Confirming the news, SRH head coach Daniel Vettori told reporters: “Travis is coming in tomorrow morning. He was delayed. He actually had COVID, so he couldn’t travel. He’ll get in tomorrow morning, and we’ll assess how he is after that.”
Travis Head’s Form This Season
It has not been a fantastic season so far for Head, who has scored only 281 runs in 10 matches at a strike rate of 156.11. However, he remains part of the recently announced Australian squad for the upcoming World Test Championship 2025 (WTC 2025) Final against South Africa, scheduled from 11 to 15 June at Lord’s, England.
With SRH already eliminated from the playoff race, they have only three league-stage matches left, including tomorrow’s clash with LSG. SRH fans will hope Head gets fitter and returns to action for the final two games before drawing the curtain on what has been a disappointing season.
