Gujarat Titans (GT) have lost their last league stage game against Chennai Super Kings (CSK), and that has ruined their chances of sealing a spot in Qualifier One as of now. With 18 points from 14 games, they are still at the top of the table, but their fate of finishing in the top two is no longer in their own hands. They have to keep an eye on the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) vs Lucknow Super Kings (LSG) clash and hope LSG defeat RCB, because only then will RCB finish with 17 points.
In the other match between Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Mumbai Indians (MI), the winner will surely finish in the top two, and hence, GT’s only hope now lies with LSG. However, this loss has opened the door for both RCB and MI to finish in the top two positions.
Scenario for RCB vs MI, Qualifier One
If RCB defeat LSG and MI defeat PBKS, then RCB will top the group with 19 points, while MI will move up to the second spot with 18 points and an improved run rate over GT. Hence, it will be RCB vs MI in Qualifier One.
