The highly anticipated match between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) at Eden Gardens in the IPL 2025 ended with no result due to heavy rain. However, PBKS batted and posted 201/4 in 20 overs, where their openers Prabhsimran Singh and Priyansh Arya showcased destructive power-hitting.
The Punjab openers gave their side a blistering start, with a solid partnership of 120 runs. Priyansh smashed 69 runs off 35 deliveries while Prabhsimran anchored the inning with an explosive batting of 83 runs off 49 balls. Later, it was found from them that it was some advice from the PBKS leg-spinner, Yuzvendra Chahal, which worked in favour of them and helped them to be that much of fearless.

During the post-match interaction, Priyansh revealed, “Yuzi bhaiya came to me before the start of the match and explained to me how the wicket will be behaving on the day. It helped me because I am not the best in reading the tracks.”
Prabhsimran further added, “Before the match, Yuzi paaji told me that I am contributing well with 30-35 runs at the top. He told me that the ball will spin on the track, and hence I should take my time in adjusting to the conditions. So, I took my time initially, and it helped me later on to play my shots. All thanks to Yuzi paaji.”
However, Chahal did not get any chance to bowl yesterday as KKR’s innings was called off due to rain after just one over. Hence, both teams were awarded one point each.
