The rumour that MS Dhoni used to drink five litres of milk a day has been around for ages. The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper addressed this myth during a promotional event ahead of their match on April 25th against the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). When asked about the most ridiculous rumour he had ever heard about himself, Dhoni’s reply took the anchor by surprise: “I drink five litres of milk a day,” he said. However, he clarified that it was merely a rumor and not true. “I used to drink maybe a litre of milk spread throughout the day. But four litres — that’s a bit too much for anyone,” he added.

While it’s clearly unrealistic for someone to consume that much milk, many might have believed it due to Dhoni’s strength and stellar performances since his debut in 2000.

This rumour dates back to the early 2000s, when Dhoni first entered the cricket scene and rapidly gained national and international recognition. It was said that his diet included five litres of milk a day, but he has now debunked that claim.

Pressue on Captain Dhoni

With Ruturaj Gaikwad ruled out of the tournament, CSK has returned under Dhoni’s captaincy. So far, the team has managed only two wins. Although his finishing style remains iconic, he hasn’t been able to contribute significantly this season. As the most experienced player in the squad, expectations from Dhoni are always high, but it’s important to remember he can’t carry the team alone. CSK will need solid performances from all players to turn their season around.
