The IPL 2025 resumed yesterday, 17 May, with the clash between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in Bengaluru. But due to heavy rain, the match was eventually called off, and both teams were awarded one point each. As a result, KKR, the defending champions, are now knocked out of the tournament, while RCB have moved to the top of the points table.

RCB are now the table toppers with 17 points. Gujarat Titans (GT) are in the second spot with 16 points. They are followed by Punjab Kings (PBKS) in third place with 15 points and Mumbai Indians (MI) in fourth with 14 points. Delhi Capitals (DC) are in fifth place, also with 14 points. KKR, with 12 points, are in sixth place.
Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) are seventh with 10 points, followed by Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in eighth with seven points. Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) remain at the bottom of the table this season.
IPL 2025 – Orange Cap List
MI’s Suryakumar Yadav is leading the list with 510 runs. He is followed by GT’s B Sai Sudharsan in second place with 509 runs. GT’s skipper Shubman Gill is third with 508 runs. Next is RCB’s Virat Kohli in fourth with 505 runs. The fifth spot is claimed by GT’s Jos Buttler with 500 runs.
IPL 2025 – Purple Cap List
GT’s Prasidh Krishna leads with 20 wickets. CSK’s Noor Ahmad is also on 20 wickets and holds the second spot. RCB’s Josh Hazlewood is third with 18 wickets, followed by MI’s Trent Boult, also with 18 wickets, in fourth place. KKR’s Varun Chakravarthy, with 17 wickets, is currently in fifth place.
