
Gujarat Titans (GT) were unsuccessful in defeating the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on 22 May in IPL 2025 at Ahmedabad. LSG’s batters and bowlers delivered a dominant performance, despite already being out of contention for the playoffs.

GT remains in the top spot with 18 points. Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) are in second and third place, respectively, both with 17 points. Each team has two games remaining before heading into the playoffs. Mumbai Indians (MI), with 16 points, occupy the fourth spot after defeating Delhi Capitals (DC) in their last match.
Among the six eliminated teams, DC is fifth on the table, while LSG is sixth. Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) are in seventh place, followed by Rajasthan Royals (RR), Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) occupying the bottom three positions.

IPL 2025 – Orange Cap List
GT batters occupy the top two positions on the Orange Cap list. Sai Sudharsan leads with 638 runs, while GT skipper Shubman Gill is close behind in second place with 636 runs. MI’s Suryakumar Yadav takes third place with 583 runs. LSG’s Mitchell Marsh, after scoring his maiden IPL century, now sits in fourth with 560 runs. RR’s Yashasvi Jaiswal rounds out the top five with 559 runs.

IPL 2025 – Purple Cap List
CSK’s Noor Ahmed leads the Purple Cap race with 21 wickets. GT’s Prasidh Krishna also has 21 wickets and is in second place based on average or strike rate. MI’s Trent Boult is in third with 19 wickets, followed by RCB’s Josh Hazlewood in fourth with 18 wickets. KKR’s Varun Chakravarthy remains in fifth place with 17 wickets.
