It was indeed a remarkable comeback for Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) skipper Rishabh Pant, whose century stole the show in the first innings. However, the situation in the second inning was far from predictable. The crowd grew tense when Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) lost their star player, Virat Kohli. Hopes of securing a spot in the first playoff match began to slip away. For a moment, it appeared that LSG might clinch victory.
RCB’s fate then rested in the hands of stand-in skipper Jitesh Sharma — and he rose to the occasion effortlessly, scoring an unbeaten 85 off just 33 balls. Mayank Agarwal supported him brilliantly, remaining not out on 41 from 23 deliveries to guide the team home. RCB dominated the final overs of the run chase, securing victory and claiming second place in the points table.
IPL 2025 Points Table
PBKS continues to lead the table with 19 points and will feature in the first playoff match. Joining them in second place are RCB, also on 19 points. Both teams are still in pursuit of their maiden IPL trophy. Gujarat Titans (GT) have slipped to third with 18 points and will face Mumbai Indians (MI), who are currently on 16 points, in the Eliminator.
For the remaining six teams, their journey ends here. Delhi Capitals (DC) finish fifth with 15 points, followed by Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in sixth with 13 points. LSG finish seventh with 12 points, just ahead of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), also on 12 points, in eighth. Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) occupy the bottom two spots with 8 points each.

IPL 2025 – Orange Cap List
GT’s Sai Sudharsan continues to hold the Orange Cap with 679 runs, with skipper Shubman Gill close behind on 649 runs. MI’s Suryakumar Yadav is third with 640 runs and has impressed with consistent performances in all 14 matches. Although LSG are out, Mitchell Marsh stays in fourth with 627 runs. After his brilliant half-century, RCB’s Virat Kohli moves into fifth with 602 runs — and he’s still in the tournament.

IPL 2025 – Purple Cap List
There are no changes to the Purple Cap standings since yesterday. CSK’s Noor Ahmed remains on top with 24 wickets, although his campaign has ended. GT’s Prasidh Krishna holds second place with 23 wickets, followed by MI’s Trent Boult in third with 19.
