IPL 2025: Updated Points Table, Orange Cap and Purple Cap List after MI vs CSK Clash

It was a successful day for both the Mumbai Indians (MI) and the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in yesterday’s double-header of IPL 2025. RCB took their redemption against the Punjab Kings (PBKS) and, now sitting in third place, have moved ahead of PBKS in the points table. Meanwhile, MI’s emphatic win over Chennai Super Kings (CSK) has lifted them to sixth place.

The Gujarat Titans (GT) remain at the top of the table with 10 points and a healthy net run rate of +0.984. Delhi Capitals (DC) follow in second place with the same points but a net run rate of +0.589. PBKS now drop to fourth after their loss to RCB, while Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) stay in fifth position with 10 points as well. RCB’s rise to third adds more competition in the playoff race. MI’s win has taken them to sixth, giving their campaign a much-needed boost. The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) are now in seventh place with six points, while Rajasthan Royals (RR), Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), and CSK round out the bottom three, each stuck on four points.

IPL 2025 – Orange Cap List

The top two run-scorers remain unchanged, with LSG’s Nicholas Pooran and GT’s Sai Sudharsan holding the top spots. However, the third spot now belongs to MI’s Suryakumar Yadav, who moved up with his blistering half-century in the win over CSK. He now has 333 runs this season. RCB’s Virat Kohli follows close behind in fourth with 322 runs after his unbeaten 73* against PBKS. GT’s Jos Buttler occupies fifth with 315 runs to his name.

IPL 2025 – Purple Cap List

GT’s Prasidh Krishna continues to lead the race for the Purple Cap with 14 wickets. DC’s Kuldeep Yadav is just behind with 12 wickets, followed by CSK’s Noor Ahmed, also with 12. RCB’s Josh Hazlewood and LSG’s Shardul Thakur complete the top five with 12 wickets each as well, making the Purple Cap race tighter than ever.
