
Rajasthan Royals (RR) suffered another defeat yesterday, losing to the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) by just two runs. The LSG batters did their job well, setting a competitive target of 180. Yashasvi Jaiswal led the chase with a strong knock of 74 off 52 balls. Despite support from debutant Vaibhav Suryavanshi and captain Riyan Parag, RR fell just short. This marks their fourth consecutive loss, dropping them to eighth place in the points table, while LSG now sits at number four.

The Gujarat Titans (GT) reclaimed the top spot from the Delhi Capitals (DC) after defeating them yesterday in Ahmedabad. The Punjab Kings (PBKS) remain in the top three alongside GT and DC, with all three teams tied on 10 points. The Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) have now joined them in fourth place, also with 10 points. RCB, who have been in form since the start of the season, are positioned mid-table, joined by the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). Mumbai Indians (MI), RR, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) currently occupy the bottom four.

While LSG’s Nicholas Pooran and GT’s Sai Sudharsan remain unchanged in the top two spots, third place now belongs to GT’s Jos Buttler. He came close to scoring a century but finished unbeaten on 97 off 54 balls, bringing his total to 315 runs. Another impressive performance came from RR opener Yashasvi Jaiswal, whose 74 off 52 balls brings his season tally to 307 runs. Following him is LSG’s Mitchell Marsh with 299 runs. Aiden Markram’s half-century yesterday moves him up to sixth place, followed by DC’s KL Rahul, who has scored 266 runs so far.

CSK’s Noor Ahmad has finally been knocked off the leaderboard. GT’s Prasidh Krishna takes the lead after his superb performance of 4/41 in yesterday’s win over DC, bringing his wicket tally to 14. Noor now sits in second place with 12 wickets, tied with DC’s Kuldeep Yadav. RCB’s Josh Hazlewood holds fourth place. LSG’s Shardul Thakur, after his contribution in the win over RR, also has 12 wickets and rounds out the top five.
