The IPL 2026 auction list was released on Tuesday, December 9. A total of 1,390 players registered for the player auction, of whom 350 were shortlisted.

Notable names such as Adam Zampa, Shaikh Rasheed and Adil Rashid are missing from the list. The mini auction is set to take place on 16 December in Abu Dhabi, and the absence of these players has become a major talking point.

Australia’s leg-spinner Zampa is one of the biggest omissions. In IPL 2025, he played only two matches for Sunrisers Hyderabad before being ruled out due to a shoulder injury. England’s Adil Rashid, who was part of the Sunrisers Hyderabad squad in IPL 2023 and went unsold in the 2025 mega auction, is also not on the list.

Other players such as Mark Chapman and Tony de Zorzi are also missing. Wicketkeeper-batter Alex Carey, who went unsold last year and last played for Delhi Capitals, is also not on the list.

Young India batter Shaikh Rasheed, who was acquired by Chennai Super Kings in 2025 for INR 30 lakh and played five matches that season, is another major exclusion. All-rounder Aaron Hardie, South Africa’s Rassie van der Dussen, Caribbean talent Alick Athanaze and fast bowler Jayden Seales are also not part of the mini auction.

Indian domestic players such as Virat Singh, Harvik Desai, Aryan Juyal, Aman Mokhade, Prerak Mankad and Luvnith Sisodia will also not go under the hammer, even though some of them have featured in previous IPL seasons.
