Australia all-rounder Cameron Green has clarified that, despite being listed as a specialist batter for the auction, he will be fit and available to bowl in the upcoming IPL season.
This revelation comes just two days before the mini-auction, which will take place in Abu Dhabi.
Speaking ahead of Australia’s training session in Adelaide on Sunday morning, Green revealed that the error was made by his manager, who mistakenly placed his name in the batters’ category instead of the seam-bowling all-rounders.
“I don’t know if my manager will like hearing this, but it was a stuff-up on his end,” Green explained. “He didn’t mean to list me as a batter. I think he accidentally selected the wrong box, so it was pretty funny how it’s all played out, but it was actually his mistake. I’ll be good to bowl.”
Green will enter the auction with a base price of INR 2 crore and is part of the first group of players to go under the hammer, which can be a big advantage in a mini-auction. He will be keeping a close eye on the auction proceedings.
“I’m sure I will be, along with a few other guys. They’re always good fun to watch. It’s a bit of a lottery where you might end up, but also who might be in your team, so it’s always been fun to watch,” he added.
The Western Australian is tipped to fetch big money and is expected to be one of the most expensive signings at the auction on December 16. The following day, Green will turn out for Australia in the third Ashes Test in Adelaide, which begins on December 17.
