A total of 350 players are set to go under the hammer in the IPL 2026 mini auction on 16 December in Abu Dhabi. Earlier, 1,390 players registered for the player auction, which has been trimmed down to 350. From India, 240 players will be up for grabs, of whom 16 will be capped and the remaining 224 uncapped. In contrast, a total of 96 capped overseas players have been enrolled out of 110, with just 14 uncapped.
At the request of the franchises, 35 new names, who were not part of the initial spreadsheet, have been added to the list. Among these, Quinton de Kock is the most exciting inclusion. The Proteas wicketkeeper batter had a forgettable season with the Kolkata Knight Riders and was released. Kusal Perera, Dunith Wellalage and George Linde are also part of the final list.
Venkatesh Iyer and Ravi Bishnoi are the only two Indians in the 40 player group who have listed themselves at the base price in INR.
Interestingly, Australian all rounder Cameron Green has listed himself as a batter and will appear in the first lot, which will feature the likes of Devon Conway, Jake Fraser McGurk, Sarfaraz Khan, David Miller and Prithvi Shaw.
Another noteworthy inclusion is Nikhil Chaudhary, who is an Australian resident but is listed as an Indian uncapped all rounder. He made his List A and T20 debuts for Punjab before moving to Australia in 2017.
The ten franchises will engage in a bidding war to fill the 77 slots available. Kolkata Knight Riders (INR 64.30 crore) and Chennai Super Kings (INR 43.4 crore) will enter the auction with the largest purses.
The one day auction will begin with a full round of capped players including batters, all rounders, wicketkeepers, fast bowlers and spinners, followed by a full round of uncapped players.
As usual, there will be an accelerated process at the end, which will start after player number 70 in the register.
