The second leg of the ISSF World Cup for Rifle, Pistol, and Shotgun is all set to begin at the Las Palmas Shooting Range in Lima, Peru. With action starting Tuesday, 15 April, the opening day will feature the finals for both men’s and women’s 10m air pistol events.

Around 400 athletes from 43 nations will be competing across 15 events over the next week, making this a key stage as teams build momentum ahead of the prestigious ISSF World Championships later this year.

India, who wrapped up the Buenos Aires leg with a solid eight-medal haul including four golds, finished just behind China on the medal tally. With both countries fielding strong line-ups again, another round of high-stakes rivalry is on the cards in Lima.

Tuesday’s spotlight for India will be on the women’s air pistol trio of Manu Bhaker, Suruchi Singh, and Sainyam, while in the men’s event, all eyes will be on Saurabh Chaudhary, Varun Tomar, and Ravinder Singh as they go for gold once again.

Fans can catch all the finals live on the official ISSF YouTube channel, offering a front-row seat to the action from anywhere in the world.

India isn’t the only team with big names returning—Argentina’s medallists are back in the mix, and the Czech Republic has added firepower this time with star shooter Jiri Privratsky, who didn’t feature in Buenos Aires.

Lima will also host elite shooters from powerhouse nations such as China, USA, Italy, Germany, Spain, Switzerland, Norway, Finland, Chinese Taipei, and Australia—many of whom were top performers in the first leg. The host nation Peru will be fielding a large 37-member team, while neighbouring Latin American countries like Brazil, Guatemala, and Chile hope to make the most of the home continent advantage.

In addition to the air pistol finals, Tuesday also marks the start of qualification rounds in men’s and women’s skeet. Representing India in the men’s skeet are Anantjeet Singh Naruka, Bhavtegh Gill, and Gurjoat Khangura, while Raiza Dhillon, Ganemat Sekhon, and Darshna Rathore will look to shine in the women’s category.

With so much talent on display and Olympic dreams on the line, the Lima stage promises another thrilling chapter in this year’s ISSF World Cup journey.
